The LA times had an
interesting story today about the search for biocontrol agents to use against non-native pests. It's a nice profile of Mark and Christina Hoddle, Entomologists at UC Riverside who have built a career searching the world for biocontrol agents. It's also a nice summary of the problem of introduced pests (particularly for an intensively agricultural state like CA), the concept of classical biocontrol, and some of the concerns that people have with it.
